Churches Helping Support Our Program

Recently, we started a mailing campaign to several area churches in the Roanoke Valley, many of them in which you attend.

Our small budget, $13,000 this year is small compared to non-profits and charities with massive budgets, building and overhead.

We are asking churches in our area to help with providing roughly $4,000 or about 30% of our budget. While many churches often have organizations asking them for financing, our program is a bit different.

First, 100% of what we do is volunteer. Our Director, Joshua, the board members, take a $0 salary and they do everything volunteer.

Second, we are hoping that churches here in the area will help with a small monthly or one time annual donation in order to help. Think strength in numbers if you will. If area churches provide even just $50 and we have 20 that do that's $1,000 right there, enough to create 386 Blessing Bags here in SWVA.

With $4,000 we can create 1,544 Blessing Bags, enough to cover all of SWVA, parts of North Carolina, Central Virginia and beyond.

Third, we need growth. We have plenty of volunteers at this point, willing to make bags, pass them out and the like. In 2018, we hope to increase our Blessing Bag production greatly, hopefully acquire a one room office where we can make our bags and purchase a small, used car or truck to be able to drive to pass out, collect our items from our drop off locations and much more.
