Roanoke Cares Day

What is Roanoke Cares Day?

Roanoke Cares Day is held on February 9th of each year and it's a way to show that you care about our community right here in the Roanoke Valley.

What Does this entail?

We encourage people to use the hashtag on social media, #RoanokeCares. We want people to show their compassion for non-profit programs and all the work they do here in the Roanoke Valley!

Where Can I use the #HashTag?

You can use it on Facebook, Instagram, SnapChat and Twitter. Post an image of yourself with the hashtag written on a piece of paper or put it in text with an image of your favorite local nonprofit!

Why Do This?

We are encouraging people to simply bring awareness of the countless man hours that people put into managing and maintaining non-profit organizations.

Most people do not realize that running an operation where funding is limited or they don't know where funding will come next can be challenging, so we want to simply thank them for what they do here in the Roanoke Valley!

Is the director of the Blessing Bag Program which started in 2016. From personally funding the program to becoming a small non-profit, Joshua not only oversee's the making of the bags ,but works with others in the community to make sure they get into the hands of the homeless and needy. Joshua runs the program in his spare time when not working fulltime.
