Churches that Help with Our Blessing Bags

Often when you think of helping the homeless, you tend to think of churches and what they can do within the local community. Many of them offer "coat closets" of food banks where you can have access to those items and they are a great resource for those that are in need of some items like that.

The Blessing Bag Program works with churches of all denominations in order to help bring awareness to our community.

As a church leader in the Roanoke Valley, you no doubt understand the pressing need for helping the community and those in need right here within our area.

The Blessing Bag Program is a 501(c)3 non-profit (EIN 82-2171108) that started in 2016 and we provide bags filled with hygiene and related items to our area homeless and those in need right here in Roanoke and the immediate areas. Our efforts to help the homeless and needy can’t take effect unless we have the support of everyone in our community.

I’m writing to ask you to donate to help our 2018 Fundraiser project as several other churches in the Valley are participating too!

We are working towards fully funding our program for 2018 and our budget for the annual year, $13,000 will cover enough bags in Roanoke, Lynchburg and some parts of the New River Valley.

We are asking churches to make up just 30% of that budget for the year, $4,000.

We are looking for 40 churches in the Roanoke Valley to help provide just $10 a month towards our program. $10 a month is $120 a year, we are asking that your church help with our small nonprofit.

Currently, there are approximately 845+ known homeless in our community thousands considered living in extreme poverty. We provide bags with hygiene items to help them out. That's not even the other areas of the United States that we serve too, which is thousands.

We are working on an education program to help church members better understand how our program works and how they can help right here in our area.

If your church would like to help with our program with a fundraiser such as bingo or yard sale, to speak at your church about how we impact the community, please message me by emailing me at questions@blessingbag.net.

I'm happy to have the help of various church groups here in the Roanoke Valley.

I'm also happy to speak at a church or organization here in the area to help better educate those with homelessness, panhandling, the scams and also how our program works!
